Dodder - Cuscuta epithymum
This is a parasitic plant that grows on plants such as heather and clover. It looks like red string trailing across the ground. It's seen here growing on clover at a chalk grassland site but i've seen it before on heathlands too.

About Flower Hunt
My aim is to find all the different flowers growing in Sussex and to photograph them. One flower for every day.
If you have photos or artwork of one of the species listed here why not send me a link or share your website under the comments for that plant.
